China remains Uzbekistan’s top trade partner, with a turnover of $5.2 billion in January-June 2023. Russia is in second place, with a turnover of $4.4 billion. Kazakhstan is in third place, with a turnover of $2.19 billion.
In the structure of the total turnover, Uzbekistan exported $699.3 million worth of goods to Kazakhstan in the first half of 2023, while imports amounted to $1496.2 million.
This is a significant increase from the previous year, when bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan amounted to $5 billion. The increase in trade is due to a number of factors, including the signing of a number of trade agreements between the two countries and the development of new transportation routes.
