Kazakhstan to supply 890,000 tons of oil to Germany in 2023
Kazakhstan will supply about 890,000 tons of oil to Germany in 2023, Turanews.kz reports citing the press service of KazMunayGas.
According to the statement made by company, it said that a delegation from KazMunayGas recently visited Germany at the invitation of the German side. During the visit, the delegation met with representatives of the PCK Raffinerie refinery in the city of Schwedt.
PCK Raffinerie is a major oil refinery in Germany. It is the only refinery in Germany that can process Russian oil from the Druzhba pipeline.
The German government has been looking for alternative sources of oil since Russia cut off supplies to the country in June. Kazakhstan has emerged as a potential supplier of oil to Germany.
In June, KazMunayGas and Rosneft Deutschland signed a contract for the supply of crude oil to Germany. The contract is for a period of one year and covers the supply of 890,000 tons of oil.
The first deliveries of Kazakh oil to Germany under the contract are expected to start in September.
The statement from KazMunayGas said that the company is “satisfied” with the progress of the contract and that it expects to meet its contractual obligations.
The statement also said that KazMunayGas is “committed to providing reliable and stable supplies of oil to Germany.”
