Kazakhstan to send 100,000 tons of oil to Germany via Druzhba in August

Kazakhstan plans to send 100,000 tons of oil to Germany via the Druzhba oil pipeline in August, this was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, commenting on the situation with the shutdown of one Druzhba branch due to depressurization at a section in Poland, Turanews.kz reports.

The oil will be transported from the Karachaganak Petroleum Operating CJSC (KPO) to the Adamova Zastava PSN (oil delivery point) in Germany. The oil will be transported in two stages:

  • From August 3 to 5, 11.6 thousand tons will be accepted at the Big Chagan PSN.
  • The rest of the oil will be accepted from August 6 to 29.

The oil will be transported to the Samara PSN in Russia from August 25 to 29. It is expected to arrive at the Adamova Zastava PSN in Germany in the last days of August, approximately from August 28 to 30.

The shipment of oil to Germany is part of Kazakhstan’s efforts to increase its energy exports to Europe. Kazakhstan is a major oil producer and has been looking to diversify its export markets in recent years.

The shutdown of one branch of the Druzhba pipeline in Poland due to depressurization has created an opportunity for Kazakhstan to increase its oil exports to Germany. The Druzhba pipeline is the longest oil pipeline in the world and transports oil from Russia to Europe. The shutdown of one branch of the pipeline has caused disruptions to oil supplies to Europe.
