Kazakhstan to release 10 animated short films based on Turkic Legends

The creative association “KazakhAnimation” together with 10 domestic animation studios launched the production of a pilot animation project based on ancient legends common to Turkic-speaking countries, Turanews.kz reports..

The Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted that each animation lasts more than five minutes.

The competition considered 40 scenarios from 26 studios written on the basis of legends about the great personalities of the Turkic-speaking countries, sacred animals and geographical names, common holidays and national entertainments of the Turkic-speaking countries.

“According to the results of the open defense, 10 animation projects received support. These are such projects as: “Ush Arys”, “Shyrak batyr men burkit zhayly anyz”, “Leyla. Turki Patshayimynyn құpiyasy”, “Ashina – birіnshi kokturik”, “Turan”, “Altyn kөl”, “Akhmet”, “Қzhanasyr zhane ұry”, “Suyndar” and “Zhumak degenimіz…”, the Central Communications Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

Kumis Seitova, acting chairman of the ISS Culture Committee, noted that each project is unique in its own way and does not resemble another in genre or subject matter. She believes that this project will strengthen cooperation between the Turkic-speaking states, and also allow the studios to reach a new level – to reach more viewers.
