Kazakhstan to Host Asian Youth Boxing Championships in Astana
Astana is set to host the Asian Youth Boxing Championship (U-22) from April 25 to May 8, as reported by the KSE press service. Approximately 500 young athletes from 25 Asian countries will participate in this continental championship.
The competition will feature two age categories: U-22 (born 2002-2005) and Youth (born 2006-2007). Fighters will compete in various weight divisions, ranging from 46-48 kg to +92 kg for men and from 45-48 kg to +81 kg for women.
The matches will follow the Olympic system, with live coverage expected on the Qazsport TV channel and the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation’s YouTube channel. Winners and runners-up will be determined on May 7-8.
This event marks Kazakhstan’s continued involvement in hosting prestigious boxing tournaments. Past championships include the 2007 Asian Youth Championship in Almaty, the 2013 Junior Championships in Shymkent, the 2016 Championship in Pavlodar, and the 2023 continental tournament held in Astana.
