Kazakhstan will start exporting 1.5 million tons of oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline from January 1, 2023, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov told reporters on the press conference.
“The Kazakh oil will be shipped from Atrau seaport to Baku seaport and there the oil willbe transfered through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline” Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov said.
Prime Minister Smailov, “it is possible to transport Kazakhstan’s oil through Baku port via Baku-Supsa and Baku-Batumi pipelines. It is also possible to export oil by rail from Atyrau to Batumi and Uzbekistan. In addition, Samilov said that the Kazakh oil will be exported to China. Currently, the efforts are being made to expand and increase the oil export potential in this direction.” said that in his statement on press conference.
“In particular, we currently have an agreement to ship 1.5 million tons of oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline from January 1, 2023. And its further increase to 6-6.5 million tons is being worked through. Tengizchevroil (TCO),a joint venture between Chevron, ExxonMobil, KazMunayGas and LukArco, has now purchased and doubled the number of tank cars. Pilot shipments by rail towards Batumi and Uzbekistan have already begun,” he said.
