Kazakhstan To Boost Exports To Mongolia And Advance Energy Projects

Kazakhstan’s Mazhilis has taken into consideration a draft law ratifying a Temporary Trade Agreement with Mongolia, paving the way for increased Kazakh exports and expanded bilateral trade.

Lawmakers also ratified an agreement establishing a Civil Protection Mechanism within the Organization of Turkic States. The framework is designed to coordinate joint emergency response efforts, including rescue operations, communication systems and humanitarian assistance. The secretariat will be headquartered in Istanbul.

During the session, deputies proposed introducing preferential housing loans for mid- and lower-level civil servants, citing relatively low salaries compared to workload.

The Energy Minister assured lawmakers that sharp fuel price increases are not expected. He emphasized that tariffs for new wind power projects in Kostanay, Pavlodar and Karaganda regions remain below previous auction benchmarks. Additionally, Kazakhstan and China plan to implement major green energy initiatives, including three wind farms and one solar power plant.
