On July 12, the first official meeting of the Union of Ski Resorts of Turkic States was held at the “Shahdag” resort in Azerbaijan. The union, established last autumn in Istanbul, brought together representatives from ski resorts in Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
The gathering focused on expanding winter tourism across Turkic nations through experience sharing, joint project development, and addressing common challenges. Kazakhstan actively backed the initiative, emphasizing the importance of deepening cooperation and unlocking the region’s collective tourism potential.
Chairman of Shahdag Resort Rustam Najafov expressed confidence that the union’s membership will grow and underlined the need for close collaboration and time to achieve its goals.
Kazakhstan’s participation aligns with key regional strategies, including the “Turkic World Vision – 2040” and the “2022–2026 Development Strategy of Turkic States.”
