Kazakhstan Showcases Gender and Family Policy Model at Turkic States Meeting in Baku

Baku has hosted the second ministerial-level meeting on family and social policy issues among member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

The event brought together delegations from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Türkiye, focusing this year on “The Role of Women in Modern Society: Sustainable Development and Traditional Values,” TuraNews.kz reports.

The international gathering aimed to strengthen cooperation among Turkic countries in promoting shared values related to women and family policy.

Kazakhstan’s approach was presented by Kairat Kambarov, Chair of the Committee for Youth and Family Affairs under the Ministry of Culture and Information. He emphasized President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s commitment to these issues and highlighted the country’s legislative and institutional framework designed to promote gender equality and support the family structure.

Delegations from other participating countries also shared best practices and discussed the progress of initiatives stemming from the first ministerial declaration. Joint projects and training programs were reviewed, while discussions also touched on enhancing women’s socioeconomic roles, preserving cultural values, and addressing digital-age risks impacting family stability.

At the close of the meeting, it was announced that the third session of the OTS ministers and agencies responsible for family and social policy will be held in Kazakhstan in 2026.
