Kazakhstan Showcases Beyneu Grain Terminal to Regional Neighbors

Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin recently hosted delegations from Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan for a tour of the Beyneu grain terminal in Mangistau region.

Kazakhstan is positioning its Beyneu grain terminal as a key player in regional agricultural trade. The facility, located in the Mangistau region, was showcased to delegations from Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan during a recent visit led by Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin.

With a capacity to store 100,000 tons of grain and handle 500 train wagons daily, the terminal is looking to expand its operations. Plans include doubling flour production to 400 tons per day and increasing animal feed output to 240 tons daily.

A particular focus of the visit was the potential for exporting Kazakh wheat to Afghanistan and Pakistan through Beyneu. To realize this ambition, additional infrastructure, including warehouses in border areas, is needed.

The Kazakh government is actively exploring ways to optimize logistics and create a new export route for the country’s grain. If successful, the Beyneu terminal could become a vital hub for regional food security.
