Kazakhstan reduces the transit time by halve through TITR
The transit time for cargo passing via Kazakhstan along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) is reduced to half time, Turanews.kz reports citing Jibek Joly TV.
Last year’s freight transportation through the territory of the country was carried out in a 12-day period, now it takes six days. It was reported that by the end of the year, this period will be shortened to five days. This was announced at a government meeting on TITR’s development, chaired by Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov on March 2.
As a result of the work conducted by the TITR participating countries to eliminate bottlenecks on the route and introduce tariffs and other measures, the delivery time of goods from China to the Black Sea ports in Georgia has decreased from 38-53 to 19-23 days. By the end of the year, the time is expected to be shortened to 14-18 days.
In addition, the meeting also considered the issue of preparing an agreement between Kazakhstan and China on the development of the Trans-Caspian Corridor. It envisages the simplification of customs procedures and the approval of guaranteed traffic volumes on the route.
