In a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Company “Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary,” plans are underway to establish a unified information system for water resources, TuraNews.kz reports citing the department’s press service.
The envisioned unified information system will comprehensively capture details about the state of the country’s water management facilities. Its primary purpose is to facilitate the monitoring of water resource distribution and usage, extending from the source to the end consumer.
The Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, emphasized the significance of digitizing water resources, noting ongoing efforts to digitalize irrigation networks in various regions of Kazakhstan. Furthermore, there are plans to integrate digitalization elements into the overarching information system in the future. This initiative marks a crucial step toward modernizing and efficiently managing the nation’s water resources.
