The Kazakhstan national team continued its impressive run in Euro 2024 qualifying on Tuesday, defeating Northern Ireland 1-0 away from home, Turanews.kz reports citing the press service of Kazakshtan Football Federation.
The only goal of the match came in the 27th minute, when Maxim Samorodov scored with a long-range strike. The Kazakhstan team held on for the win despite a late Northern Ireland rally.
With this victory, Kazakhstan has now won four of its six matches in qualifying, good for second place in Group D. The team is only two points behind Denmark, the group leader.
Kazakhstan’s next two matches will be away to Denmark and Finland on October 14 and 17, respectively. The team will be looking to continue its winning ways and put itself in a strong position to qualify for Euro 2024.
