Kazakhstan celebrates Defender of the Fatherland Day
Today, May 7, Kazakhstanis celebrate Defender of the Fatherland Day.
in 1992 on this day the State Defense Committee of the country was transformed into the Ministry of Defense. At the same time, the President of Kazakhstan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief signed a decree on the creation of the national Armed Forces.
On October 4, 2012, the Parliament signed additions to the law “On holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan”, in accordance with the document, May 7 was declared a public holiday and a day off.
Defender of the Fatherland Day this year falls on Sunday, and therefore another day off is postponed to May 8th. And along with Victory Day on May 9, Kazakhstanis have four days of rest at once: from May 6 to May 9.
