The National Bank of Kazakhstan is issuing commemorative coins dedicated to the upcoming 25th anniversary of the capital city of Astana. The coins will be part of the “Outstanding Events and People” series, and they will go on sale on July 3 through the National Bank’s online store, Turanews.kz reports.

The coins are made of cupronickel and have a face value of 100 tenge (about $0.2). They feature the inscription “Astana. 25 Jyl” (Astana. 25 Years), as well as the state emblem of Kazakhstan and the image of the Bayterek Tower, a landmark of Astana.

The total circulation of the coins is 20,000 copies. They are expected to be popular with collectors and those interested in Kazakhstan’s history and culture.

The issuance of the commemorative coins is a way for the National Bank of Kazakhstan to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Astana and to commemorate the city’s important role in the development of Kazakhstan. The coins are also a valuable addition to the National Bank’s collection of commemorative coins.
