Kazakhstan has attracted $4 billion in investments to its tourism industry over the past three years, Turanews.kz reports.
According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in 2022 alone, the country attracted $513.3 billion tenge (approximately $1.2 billion) in tourism investments, and more than 400 tourist facilities were built.
The government of Kazakhstan is actively attracting private capital to develop domestic tourism. Since last year, state support measures have covered projects for the construction of tourism facilities, the development of ski resorts, and the purchase of tourist buses. Subsidies are also provided to tour operators for attracting foreign tourists, and children’s air tickets are subsidized for Kazakh citizens traveling within the country.
The government is also paying particular attention to attracting foreign investors, including through the provision of various preferences.
Kazakhstan is a vast country with a diverse landscape, including mountains, lakes, steppes, and deserts. It is home to a number of historical and cultural sites, including the ancient city of Turkestan and the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi.
