Kazakhstan Announces Men’s Road Cycling Team for Asian Championships
The lineup for the Kazakhstan men's road cycling team, set to compete in the upcoming Asian Championships in Almaty, has been unveiled.
Scheduled to take place in the southern capital from June 5 to 12, the championship has already confirmed participation from teams representing 27 Asian countries.
The event will feature races across various categories including elite, junior, and para-athletes, with additional competitions for Masters cyclists set to be held in the industrial zone.
Daniil Fominykh, the team’s senior coach, expressed regret that this year’s Asian Championship coincides with major international races, where the Astana Qazaqstan Team usually participates. Nevertheless, due to scheduling conflicts and in preparation for the Olympics in Paris, cyclist Alexey Lutsenko will represent Kazakhstan in the home championship, while remaining fit and continuing training.
Regarding the team composition for the Asian Championships in Almaty, Fominykh emphasized the selection of the strongest athletes.
