Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to Launch Press Tours and Joint Efforts Against Disinformation

At the 2nd Central Asian Media Forum in Astana, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva announced a new level of media cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan signed a cooperation plan through 2025, which includes content exchange, joint training sessions and seminars for journalists, capacity building for press officers, and support for young media professionals. A key focus is placed on coordinated efforts to combat misinformation.

Additionally, the sides agreed to organize press tours for journalists from both countries to foster experience sharing and professional networking. Minister Balayeva invited other Central Asian countries to join the initiative.

Uzbekistan’s Director of the Agency of Information and Mass Communications, Asadjon Khodjaev, highlighted the importance of establishing a regular dialogue among the region’s media ministries.
