Kazakhstan and Turkey Discuss Strengthening Diplomatic and Economic Ties

Ambassador Erkebulan Sapiyev met with Türkiye's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayşe Beris Ekinci, to discuss issues of bilateral and multilateral diplomacy at the Turkish Foreign Ministry. 

The meeting focused on preparations for two major events: the 5th meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council and the 8th meeting of the Kazakh-Turkish Joint Group on Strategic Planning. These gatherings aim to strengthen strategic ties between the two countries.

Ambassador Sapiyev highlighted Kazakhstan’s political and socio-economic reforms and stressed the potential for expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation. He also emphasized the importance of Turkish businesses actively participating in developing Kazakhstan’s production capacities using modern technologies.

Deputy Minister Ekinci underscored the need for close cooperation in the energy sector and the diversification of transport and transit routes for delivering hydrocarbons to international markets, including routes through Azerbaijan. She highlighted the significance of increasing cargo traffic along the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars route and expressed interest in enhancing cooperation within international organizations.

Both parties agreed to continue their constructive cooperation in key areas following the meeting.
