Kazakhstan and the European Union Strengthen Cooperation as They Mark 10 Years of Strategic Partnership

Kazakhstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yermek Kosherbayev, held a meeting with the Head of the EU Delegation to Kazakhstan, Aleska Simkic, TuraNews.kz reports.

During the talks, the two sides discussed the current state and future prospects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union, as well as efforts to enhance interregional connectivity within the “Central Asia + EU” framework.

Minister Kosherbayev noted the high level of political dialogue and the steady progress of bilateral relations, emphasizing the importance of consistent implementation of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Kazakhstan and the EU — signed ten years ago.

The parties also exchanged views on regional and international issues, including the development of transport and logistics corridors, green transformation, digitalization, and improving Kazakhstan’s business climate.

Aleska Simkic praised the deep and mature partnership between Kazakhstan and the European Union, noting the high level of engagement achieved in recent years. She reaffirmed that the EU views Kazakhstan as a key partner in Central Asia and stands ready to further deepen cooperation in support of the country’s sustainable development.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening mutually beneficial relations and maintaining active dialogue through upcoming reciprocal visits and joint initiatives.
