Kazakhstan and Mongolia to Strengthen Transport and Logistics Ties
On June 26, during his official visit to Mongolia, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu held talks with Mongolia’s Minister of Roads and Transport, Borkhuu Delgersaikhan.

The two sides confirmed their shared interest in boosting cooperation in railway and road transport, civil aviation, and infrastructure development.
A key focus was the proposed “Kazakhstan–Russia–Mongolia” highway project, expected to shorten the route between the two countries by over 800 km and help raise bilateral trade volume to $500 million.
They also discussed increasing exports of Kazakh grain, oilseeds, and transport equipment—such as locomotives and passenger carriages—to Mongolia. Kazakhstan highlighted the potential for Mongolia to connect to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route and other major Eurasian corridors.
In civil aviation, both parties showed interest in expanding direct flights between Astana, Ölgii, and Ulaanbaatar. They also agreed to hold a trilateral meeting of transport ministers from Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Russia this July in China.
