The Cabinet of Ministers of Kazakhstan has approved an agreement with China to mutually exempt citizens from visa requirements. The relevant government decree was published on the portal of legal acts, Turanews.kz reports.
The agreement was signed during the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to China in mid-May. The document stipulates that citizens of Kazakhstan and China will be able to visit each other’s countries without a visa for a period of up to 30 calendar days from the date of crossing the border and a total of 90 calendar days within 180 calendar days.
Valid travel documents for Kazakh citizens will be:
- A passport of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- A certificate of return to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
For Chinese citizens:
- A semi-service passport of a citizen of China;
- A passport of a citizen of China;
- A temporary travel document.
