Kazakhstan and China Strengthen Tourism Cooperation

Kazakhstan is participating in the international tourism exhibition COTTM (China Outbound Travel & Tourism), which is taking place in Beijing, China.

The national stand of Kazakhstan, organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, is supported by KazakhTourism, the Almaty Region Tourism Department, and the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China.

At the event, Kazakhstan’s tourism potential is being showcased by 21 participants, including 12 tour operators and 7 hotel and resort complexes. The country continues to strengthen its reputation as an attractive tourism destination, gaining visibility through leading international platforms such as China Media Group and Dragon Trail.

China is considered a priority market for Kazakhstan’s tourism sector. A mutual visa-free regime was introduced between Kazakhstan and China in November 2023, allowing citizens to travel visa-free for up to 30 days. In 2024, the number of flights between the two nations has increased to 44 per week, further enhancing connectivity.

According to the eQonaq system, more than 122,000 tourists from China visited Kazakhstan in the first 10 months of 2024, marking a 64% increase compared to the same period in 2023, when 78,515 Chinese tourists visited the country.

The exhibition will also feature a presentation highlighting Kazakhstan’s investment potential at the Outbound Tourism Investment & Development Forum.
