Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov met with the government delegation of the Republic of Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation headed by Prime Minister Andrei Nazarov in Astana, Turanews.kz reports citing the press service of Prime Minister of the Republic Kazakhstan.
The two sides discussed ways to boost trade and investment between the two countries. They also discussed cooperation in the fields of agriculture, logistics, tourism, and culture.
The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Bashkortostan amounted to about $382 million in 2022. The two sides agreed to work to further expand trade and increase the range of goods supplied.
The two sides also discussed the localization of the production of Ural Spring Plant LLC in the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan. They also discussed cooperation with JSC Bashkir Soda Company, which is working on two major projects worth about $716 million.
The government of Kazakhstan is ready to provide the necessary support to Bashkir businessmen in the implementation of investment projects.
Prime Minister Nazarov stressed that the regions of Kazakhstan and Bashkortostan are connected by many years of close cooperation in various fields. He said that there is significant potential for expanding cooperation.
“We see great opportunities in the Kazakhstan direction, both for Bashkortostan and our country as a whole, and for Kazakhstan. Therefore, we would like to strengthen our relationship, add new directions and points of development,” Nazarov said.
The two sides agreed to continue to work together to boost trade and investment and to expand cooperation in other areas.
