Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan Strengthen Cooperation in Ecology and Natural Resources
Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Alim Bayel, recently met with Azerbaijan's Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Mukhtar Babayev, to discuss collaboration in environmental matters.
The discussions focused on advancing “green” diplomacy initiatives and addressing current global and regional environmental challenges. Bayel also extended congratulations to Babayev on Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), scheduled for November 2024 in Baku.
Babayev highlighted the significance of COP29, emphasizing Azerbaijan’s preparations for hosting one of the largest events in its history.
During the meeting, the two parties explored Kazakh initiatives supporting climate dialogue in the region and agreed to cooperate on the introduction and reintroduction of various animal species, further strengthening bilateral ties in environmental conservation.
