Kazakhstani boxer Saken Bibossinov secured the place in the top three at the Asian Championship held in Amman, the capitaJOrdl of Jordan, Vesti.kz reports.
In the under-51kg quarterfinals, Bibossinov defeated his Malaysian rival Gayyum Ariffin with a score of 5:0 to advance to the next round and secured the bronze medal for the Kazakhstan boxing national team.
The Kazakh national athlete who won the bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and became the “Lightweight World Champion” in 2021, represents Kazakhstan at the Boxing Asian Championship in Amman.
