Kazakh Taekwondo Athletes Shine with Three Medals at Prestigious Turkish Open 2024 Tournament

The Turkish Open 2024, an esteemed international tournament of the G-1 category, recently concluded in Antalya, Turkey, as reported by the federation's press service.

From February 9 to 14, over 500 taekwondo athletes hailing from various corners of the globe gathered to vie for medals in a highly competitive arena.

Demonstrating remarkable skill and determination, the Kazakhstan taekwondo team exhibited their prowess, securing 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal for their homeland.

In the women’s -73 kg weight category, Cancel Deniz clinched the silver medal, showcasing exceptional performance throughout the tournament.

Among the male contenders in the -63 kg weight category, Samirkhon Ababakirov emerged as the silver medalist. Ababakirov’s journey to the final was marked by a resounding victory over Mikhail Artamonov, the bronze medalist of the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Additionally, Ruslan Zhaparov secured a bronze medal in the men’s +87 kg weight category, adding to Kazakhstan’s medal tally and further highlighting the team’s prowess on the global stage.
