Kazakh Senate Approves Agreement to Boost Trade Among Turkic States

The Senate of Kazakhstan has ratified an agreement aimed at simplifying trade procedures between the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG).

On September 13, Senate deputies approved the law titled “On Ratification of the Agreement between the Governments of the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States on the Establishment of a Simplified Customs Corridor.” The goal of the agreement is to streamline customs operations and reduce the paperwork involved in these procedures.

During the discussion, Senate Speaker emphasized that this law aligns with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s recent address, which highlighted the importance of developing Kazakhstan’s transit potential. He added that the agreement would help boost the volume of cargo transport and contribute to stronger trade and economic relations between OTG member states.

In June, President Tokayev had also signed a related law on combined freight transportation, aiming to further enhance transit and trade links between the countries.
