Kazakh Seismologists Report Earthquake in China

An earthquake was detected by the seismic station network operated by NNTsSN and I LLP, under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at 3:55 AM local time.

The earthquake’s epicenter was located in China, approximately 456 kilometers northeast of Almaty.

The earthquake had an energy class of 11.1 and a magnitude of 4.8 on the MPV scale. The coordinates of the epicenter were recorded at 44.31° N, 82.36° E, with a depth of 5 kilometers.

According to the MSK-64 scale, there were no reports of perceptibility of the earthquake within Kazakhstan’s territory.
