Seismologists from SOME LLP, a part of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, reported the detection of an earthquake at 22:16.
The earthquake’s epicenter is situated 528 km northeast of Almaty in China, with an energy class of 9.7. The recorded magnitude is MPV 4.0, and the coordinates of the epicenter are 44.51° N, 83.21° E, at a depth of 15 km.
Fortunately, there is no reported perceptibility of the earthquake on the territory of Kazakhstan, according to the MSK-64 scale. This event highlights the crucial role of seismic monitoring networks in swiftly detecting and reporting seismic activity for the safety and awareness of affected regions.
