Kazakh Seismologists Detect Two Earthquakes in Afghanistan
The seismic monitoring network operated by the National Nuclear Technology Center for Seismic Research under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan recently recorded two earthquakes in Afghanistan.
The first earthquake, with a magnitude MPV of 5.2, occurred at 15:47 and had its epicenter located 849 kilometers southwest of Almaty. Its energy class was measured at 10.7.
The second earthquake, with a magnitude MPV of 4.9, struck at 21:22 and had its epicenter situated 890 kilometers southwest of Almaty. It had an energy class of 10.8.
As of now, there is no reported perceptibility on the MSK-64 scale within the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
