Kazakh President Receives First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Denis Manturov, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, to discuss key areas of bilateral cooperation ahead of the Kazakh leader’s upcoming state visit to Moscow.

During the meeting, Tokayev emphasized the strategic importance of the visit and expressed confidence that the forthcoming negotiations would be productive. He highlighted the active and well-coordinated work of the two governments, noting that Russia remains one of Kazakhstan’s leading trade and economic partners.

The President recalled his earlier agreement with President Vladimir Putin to increase mutual trade turnover to 30 billion dollars in the near future. Tokayev stressed that Russia is among the top countries in terms of both scale and growth of investment into Kazakhstan’s economy, with total Russian investments reaching 4 billion dollars in 2024. He also underlined the strong presence of major Russian companies in Kazakhstan, describing it as a sign of deep mutual trust.

Denis Manturov thanked the Kazakh leader for the warm reception and reaffirmed Russia’s readiness to further expand bilateral cooperation. He noted that both countries have already established a solid foundation for the development of joint projects, expressing confidence in their successful implementation.

At the end of the meeting, President Tokayev presented Manturov with the Order of Dostyk (Friendship) of the First Degree for his significant contribution to socio-economic and cultural development, as well as for strengthening friendship and cooperation between the peoples of the two nations.
