Kazakh President Meets with EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) President Odile Renaud-Basso, who is visiting Kazakhstan for the 37th Foreign Investors’ Council meeting.

The discussion focused on strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, particularly in SME development, green transition, and the energy sector. Tokayev welcomed the EBRD’s interest in joint investment projects aligned with sustainable growth.
Renaud-Basso praised Kazakhstan’s investment climate and confirmed the Bank’s commitment to supporting infrastructure development. She highlighted the recent approval of funding for the 234-km Aktobe–Ulgaysyn road reconstruction, vital for domestic and international transit.
According to her, EBRD investments in Kazakhstan tripled in 2024 compared to the previous year, exceeding €1 billion. She reaffirmed the Bank’s readiness to continue supporting Kazakhstan’s transport and energy initiatives.
