Kazakh Leader received Hakan Fidan, who is on an official visit to Astana, in Akorda yesterday.

During the meeting, President Tokayev noted that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the Turkish Republic. He said that Türkiye has achieved enormous success in the political, socio-economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres over the course of a century. He also praised Türkiye’s active participation in solving regional and global problems, saying that it has become an authoritative state in the international arena.

Tokayev stressed that Türkiye is the most important strategic partner of Kazakhstan. He recalled that during the summit meetings between the leaders of the two countries, agreements were reached on a wide range of issues.

“Relations between our fraternal countries have reached the level of expanded strategic partnership,” Tokayev said. “Türkiye is one of Kazakhstan’s four leading trading partners. Last year, bilateral trade grew by 54 percent, reaching $6.3 billion. We agreed to increase this figure to 10 billion in the near future. Investment cooperation between the two countries is developing dynamically. Türkiye is among the 10 largest investors in Kazakhstan. Work is currently underway on 36 projects totaling more than $2.8 billion. We believe that cooperation between the two countries has great prospects.”

In turn, Fidan conveyed to Tokayev the greetings of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The minister said that the Turkish side intends to make every effort to promote cooperation between the two countries, as well as take interaction within regional and international structures to a new level.

According to Fidan, Erdogan plans to comprehensively discuss the prospects for strengthening the strategic partnership of the two states during his upcoming visit to Kazakhstan in November this year, timed to coincide with the summit of the Organization of Turkic States.
