Kazakh-Origin Boxer from Uzbekistan Secures 2024 Olympics Ticket with Victory
Ruslan Abdullaev, who hails from Kazakhstan but represents Uzbekistan, clinched his Olympic berth after winning his fourth match at the tournament in Busto Arsizio, Italy.
Competing in the quarterfinals in the 63.5-kilogram weight category, Abdullaev faced Serbian boxer Alexey Sendrik, ultimately triumphing with a 3-1 decision by the judges.
This victory ensures Abdullaev’s participation in the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Prior to this decisive match, Abdullaev had already showcased his prowess, defeating Shpetim Bajoku from Kosovo via technical knockout, securing a unanimous decision victory against Puerto Rican representative Jose Adrielaya Diaz Rodriguez, and overcoming Indian boxer Shiva Tapa.
