An informal meeting of the President of Kazakhstan with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took place in Shymkent, Turanews.kz reports citing Akroda.
The leaders of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, in the spirit of mutual trust, friendship and good neighborliness, discussed in detail the current state and prospects for strengthening the allied relations between the two countries.
The parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached following the state visit of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Tashkent in December 2022.
The presidents paid special attention to issues of trade and economic cooperation. In particular, they discussed the prospects for increasing mutual trade, attracting investments, developing cooperation in the industrial, energy, agricultural, transport and logistics sectors.
There was also an exchange of views on topical issues of the regional agenda.
