The first leg, played in Ljubljana, ended in a 1–1 draw, leaving everything to play for in the return match in Almaty. In front of home fans, Kairat showcased a confident performance and secured a 2–0 victory.
Jorginho opened the scoring in just the 5th minute, setting the tone for the match. Later, in the 31st minute, Aleksandr Mrinsky doubled the lead, effectively sealing the result.
With this win, Kairat advances to the second qualifying round, where they will face Finnish club KuPS.
