Istanbul, Türkiye has been named the best city in Europe by Travel + Leisure magazine. The magazine’s annual World’s Best Awards are based on a survey of its readers, who rate cities on a variety of factors, including culture, food, friendliness, shopping, and value, Turanews.kz reports.
Istanbul scored an impressive 90.23 out of 100 possible points, making it the highest-rated city in Europe. The city’s rich history and vibrant culture were major factors in its success, as were its delicious food and friendly locals.
In second place on the list was Florence, Italy, with 89.48 points. Rome came in third with 88.91 points, followed by Lisbon, Portugal (88.62 points) and Porto, Portugal (88.09 points).
Rounding out the top 10 were Seville, Spain; Ljubljana, Slovenia; San Sebastian, Spain; Prague, Czech Republic; and Barcelona, Spain.
