Iran and Azerbaijan to Accelerate Joint Border Projects

In a move to boost bilateral cooperation, Iran and Azerbaijan have agreed to expedite the implementation of key infrastructure projects along their shared border.

Both sides stressed the urgency of completing the construction of a border terminal in Astara, as well as critical bridge infrastructure. These projects are considered strategically important for enhancing trade turnover and strengthening regional logistics.

As part of the agreement, Shahin Mustafayev is scheduled to visit the Iranian city of Astara. During the visit, a session of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation will be held to assess progress on shared initiatives.

High-level meetings are expected to serve as a platform for addressing current challenges, pushing forward ongoing projects, and deepening intergovernmental cooperation.
