In the statement shared by the department of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan, since beginning of this year, the department has received 6 appeals regarding high prices for taxi services of Yandex Taxi.
In this regard, the Almaty department open an investigation upon a request regarding to signs of coordination of prohibited economic activities in Yandex Taxi LLP.
According to paragraph 1 of Article 175 of the Code, the price set by a market entity that occupies a dominant or monopoly position in the market, if the price exceeds the amount of expenses and profits that necessary for the production and sale of such goods, then the price is considered as a high price.
The results of the above investigations will be announced later.
