On September 25, an international media forum titled “Independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan in the international news space” was held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. The forum was dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan, Turanews.kz reports.
Participants in the media forum included representatives of specialized structures, television and radio channels, the State Information Agency, editors of newspapers and magazines and local media, as well as foreign journalists and correspondents and heads of news agencies. In total, about 100 foreign media were represented at the forum, including the General Director of the Big Asia TV channel, heads and representatives of media and television and radio companies of the Russian Federation, Great Britain, Malaysia, Japan, the Republic of Türkiye, and Belarus.
The main goal of the forum was to further strengthen the international cooperation of Turkmenistan with foreign media. The forum was organized by the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography of Turkmenistan.
The forum featured a number of panels and discussions on topics such as the role of the media in promoting peace and understanding, the coverage of Turkmenistan in the international media, and the opportunities for cooperation between Turkmen and foreign media.
