International Gastronomic Festival “AstauFest-2024” Takes Place in Astana

The fifth edition of the International Gastronomic Festival "AstauFest-2024" was held in Astana at the College of Public Catering and Service.

The event featured specialists from Türkiye, India, Korea, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, TuraNews.kz reports.

This year’s festival focused on students and teachers in the food and service sectors in Astana. Over 300 participants attended, with the goal of introducing modern technologies in public catering and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

During the festival, international championship winners held master classes on “Confectionery” and “Bakery Skills.” Competitions were also held in various categories, including “Chef of 2024,” “Chief Pastry Chef of 2024,” “Chocolate Show,” “Sugar Show,” “Mastic Show,” “Baker of 2024,” “Bar Service,” and a tasting laboratory titled “Slow Food.”

Additionally, a scientific and practical conference called “Renewal of Cultural Traditions: from the Origins to the Present” was organized for participants. Students from several schools, including No. 22, 53, 74, 30, 13, 37, 51, 55, and 57, participated in traditional games such as tug of war, ak suyek, scarf throwing, and asyk atu.

At the end of the competition, Amirzhan Kairolla, a student from the higher college of Kazpotrebsoyuz in Astana, along with his supervisor Aiym Kumarbekova, received a special prize for “The Will to Win,” which includes a trip to Antalya.
