Hydrogen Sulfide Emission at Mine in Uzbekistan Prompts Evacuation

A hydrogen sulfide emission occurred at a mine in Uzbekistan, leading to the urgent evacuation of nearby residents. The incident took place on September 1 at around 15:17 at well No. 604, located in the 25 Years of Independence deposit in the Kulkamysh mahalla, Baysun district, according to Uznews.uz.

The emission resulted from a breach in the technological process at the site. Authorities responded quickly, evacuating residents living close to the well to a safe zone. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Local officials, including the regional khokim and representatives from relevant organizations, arrived on the scene to assess the situation. Investigations are currently underway to evaluate air pollution levels in the affected area.
