Hungarian Firm to Establish Agricultural Industrial Park in Kazakhstan
A Hungarian company, Globalia Ltd, is set to develop an agricultural industrial park in Kazakhstan's Akmola region. This initiative aims to showcase and implement modern agricultural technologies originating from Hungary.
According to Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the project will span 27 hectares and will encompass around 7-8 different types of activities related to agribusiness. The park will serve as a platform for demonstrating advanced agricultural practices and sustainable, environmentally friendly technologies. It will ensure product traceability from production to consumption, embodying the concept of “farm to table.”
A key feature of the project is its financial independence. All installations are designed to become self-sustaining and profitable without requiring additional funding.
In the initial 2-3 years, several projects are planned for implementation. These include the development of a model fish farm, initiatives to grow fish, strategies to enhance the role of land and soil in climate change adaptation, the construction of a feed mill, and the establishment of a demonstration and experimental station for cultivating various plant varieties.
The Agropark will also provide an opportunity for Kazakhstani producers and supply chain participants to explore new technologies and practical models, including the Carbon Farming system, which is designed to capture and store CO2 from the soil. There are also plans to develop seed production using Hungarian technology.
The Arshaly district, a major agricultural hub in the Akmola region known for its grain production, has been selected by Globalia Ltd as the site for this ambitious project.
