High-Level Turkic States Elders Summit Convenes in Ashgabat

On March 12th, in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, a meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) will take place.

The meeting will involve the organization’s key members – Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, as well as elders sent by observer country Hungary.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss previous decisions and expand cooperation among member states. For the 15th meeting of the OTS’s Elders, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhamedov issued a decree to receive guests at the highest level.

On the first day of Ramadan, elders received by the national leader of Turkmenistan and elder Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov will be hosted to an official iftar dinner, and the Holy Quran will be read.

It is expected that decisions ensuring integration among member countries in trade, economic, transportation, communication, social, and cultural spheres will be adopted at the meeting. Elders hold their annual council meeting and prepare reports for presentation to the organization’s leaders.
