Harbin Selected as Host City for Next Winter Asian Games

The Olympic Council of Asia has announced that Harbin, China, will be the host city for the IX Asian Winter Games, according to a statement from the Sports Development Directorate of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Scheduled to take place from February 7 to March 14, 2025, the next Winter Asian Games will see athletes from across the continent compete in various winter sports events.

Additionally, the OCA has approved the mascot, emblem, and motto for the Games, which will be “Dreams of Winter, Love among Asia”.

It’s worth noting that Harbin previously hosted the Winter Asian Games in 1996. During those Games, the Kazakhstan team achieved remarkable success, securing 14 gold, 9 silver, and 8 bronze medals, earning them the second position in the overall standings, trailing only behind the team from the People’s Republic of China.
