On January 13, the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier had a conversation over the phone with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the press service of the Azerbaijan Presidency reports.
During the conversation, the heads of states expressed their satisfaction with the current state of Azerbaijan-Germany relations and discussed the prospects of cooperation.
Touching on regional security issues, Frank-Walter Steinmeier emphasized that Germany supports the EU-Azerbaijan-Armenia tripartite format conducted with the direct participation of the President of the Council of the European Union, Charles Michel.
President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that he appreciated the tripartite negotiations conducted with the support of the President of the Council of the European Union, Charles Michel, and expressed his commitment to the process of discussions conducted within the framework of the tripartite format of the European Union-Azerbaijan-Armenia.
