
Georgia has posted a record $2 billion in international tourism revenue for the first half of 2025, a 6.2% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to data from investment bank Galt & Taggart, cited by Business Media.
In Q2 alone, tourism generated $1.2 billion for the Georgian economy — a 9.1% year-on-year growth. Analysts forecast that by the end of 2025, total tourism revenue could reach $4.5 billion.
Official figures from the Georgian National Tourism Administration show that 1.6 million foreign visitors entered the country in the second quarter — a 7% increase. Of those, 80.1% stayed overnight, while day-trip visits declined by 5.4%.
Russia (+16%), EU countries (+20.5%), Armenia (+7.2%), and India (+33.5%) led the increase in visitor numbers. Notably, tourist arrivals from Azerbaijan surged by 46.7%, despite ongoing land border closures.
Conversely, the number of travelers from Türkiye dropped by 16.5%, and visitors from Iran decreased by 8.2%.
In Q1, Kazakhstan ranked among the top ten countries sending the most tourists to Georgia.
