Gaza Strip: Palestinian Death Toll Surpasses 33,000 Amid Ongoing Israeli Attacks

The Gaza Strip's Health Ministry reported on Thursday that the toll of Palestinians killed due to ongoing Israeli attacks in the enclave has surpassed 33,000.

In the past 24 hours alone, Israeli military actions resulted in the deaths of 62 Palestinians and injuries to 91 others, as per the ministry’s statement. Since the commencement of the latest round of conflict between Israel and the Hamas movement on October 7, 2023, the total count of fatalities in the Gaza Strip has climbed to 33,037, with 75,668 individuals sustaining injuries.

Meanwhile, Palestinian Social Development Minister Samah Abu Aoun disclosed that relentless Israeli bombardments in the enclave have claimed the lives of over 14,861 children and rendered approximately 17,000 children orphaned in Gaza.

Abu Aoun highlighted the dire circumstances faced by children in Gaza, characterized by deteriorating health, psychological distress, and food insecurity. He emphasized that the toll of starvation-related deaths in northern Gaza has reached at least 30 individuals.

The Israeli military launched a significant offensive operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip following a surprise attack by Hamas militants on the southern border areas of Israel on October 7, 2023, resulting in approximately 1,200 casualties and over 200 hostages.
