The final playoff day on September 27 will feature matches between Thailand and France, as well as Argentina and Croatia.
Kazakhstan’s team, competing in Group D, drew 1-1 with Spain, then went on to defeat Libya 4-1 and New Zealand 10-0. As a result, Spain secured second place in their group.
Kazakhstan and Portugal have met twice before. The first encounter took place at the 2000 World Cup, where Kazakhstan lost 2-6. In 2021, they met again in the semifinals, with the match ending 2-2 after regular and extra time, but Portugal won 5-4 in the penalty shootout.
